Our work can make a world of difference in the lives of people in need, but we may not always have the capacity to fully meet the needs of all prospective clients on our own.
Volunteer Program
The North Georgia LITC welcomes volunteer assistance from anyone interested in helping low-income taxpayers move towards financial stability, including law firms and lawyers, CPAs, and other professionals.
Volunteers can supplement our work in critical ways:
-
Providing direct tax assistance to low-income clients
-
Supporting grant writing and other fundraising initiatives
-
Helping conduct outreach efforts to inform community members about tax topics
Join us! Help us provide financial stability to people in need
We will provide all necessary training and supervision, as well as malpractice insurance, for our pro bono volunteers.
Volunteering at the North Georgia Low Income Taxpayer Clinic is a rewarding experience because the work I do has a significant impact on clients’ financial and personal lives, especially during these hard times. The cases are challenging, but the clients are always kind and amazing to work with. It is a great privilege for me to listen to a client’s story and interact with people from different backgrounds and walks of life. I also get to expand my horizons by working on cases that are unique to the most vulnerable in our society. I highly recommend volunteering at the Clinic to anyone interested in the tax field or to anyone wanting to lend a helping hand.
